New Developments over Gwadar
International Airport

In March, Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Gwadar International Expo and inaugurated the International Airport. Balochistan government also inaugurated Friendship hospital and Vocational Training Center.
Both countries decided to focus on the improvement of social sectors as well as the improvement of local bodies for the emerging time of Pakistan.
According to the new development and consultancy of the project, all the initial work of the project has been finalized and developed.

Gwadar international airport will put Gwadar at an important component of the CPEC framework on the global aviation map. Gwadar International Airport is designed according to International standards which are capable of handling the largest and Boeing planes. It is capable of handling A-380 Boeing jet and aimed and supposed to fully facilitate the movement of international visitors and investors.

The Civil aviation Authority has acquired 3000 acres of land from Gwadar Port Authority.
The new airport will operate according to international standards under the open skies policy. It is also planned to facilitate the movement of large vehicles and aircraft.

Government of Balochistan also started the development of Vocational and technical institute every year to meet the demand of skilled workers and for the free zone and port.

The project has been started on vocational institutes and New Airport of Gwadar. The construction of Gwadar Hospital has also been started and will be completed in 2 years to facilitate.

The initial phase of the Special Economic Zone has been started has been completed and will be launched soon.

Three Year Construction Plan:

Gwadar International Airport will be completed within 3 years with the total investment of US $256 million. The Gwadar port is one of the biggest airports and equipped with all digital systems. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing, Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed and

China's grant for the airport: The Chinese government would assist Pakistan for the construction of the airport under Chinese Grant Assistance. The New airport has a terminal building with a cargo terminal which has a capacity of 30,000 tons per year.

Benefits to Balochistan:

Prime Minister prioritized on the development of the local community. Imran Khan during the inauguration of Airport said that new institutes will be developed so the number of employees can be increased.

PM Imran Khan also announced to launch the Sehat card to provide health insurance of 720000 to every family.

Rail links:

Pakistan and China to Upgrade ML-1 from Peshawar to Karachi which will reduce the time from 18 hours to 5 hours by bus at the movement.

China has made a total investment of $64 billion which have new developments of sectors and it has a total worth of 20 per cent of annual GDP of Pakistan's economy.

CPEC is believed to cover the total distance of 3218 Km route by 2030 consisting of highways, pipelines and railways which will connect Gwadar port to Xinjiang province of Balochistan.

And one of the most targeted achievement is to add 17000 megawatts of electricity generation at a cost of $34 billion.
