CPEC and Gwadar Briefings

Pakistan and China agreed to enhance and exchange a high level of cooperation for more progress in international affairs and bilateral relations.
both countries also agreed to implement the consensus reached by leaders of both countries during the second Belt and Road Forum.
A press conference was held during the visit of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi added that
" Pakistan and China strategic partnership are deepened in Belt and Road Initiative between both countries."
He further said that
Due to challenges and current international challenges, both countries agreed to enhance high-level exchanges. Pakistan and China also concerned on the Afghan issue and how to tackle terrorism in the region. China Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan's efforts against terrorism.

Socio-Economic Potential:

A meeting was held by Khusro Bakhtyar in Islamabad for Annual Plan development and he said that the Pakistani government is optimizing economic returns and investing in high socio-economic development projects.
Khusro Bakhtyar further said that Knowledge economy, clean green Pakistan, agriculture, human resource development and regional equalization development programme will be given priority besides Socio-economic development and power.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Planning gave an overview of the fiscal year 2019 and targets to achieve in 2019.

The participants of the meeting were informed that the government is focused to stabilize the economy and empower long term growth potential.

The meeting was briefed that the size of national development outlay is proposed at 1.83 trillion with provincial aid and development it reaches to 912 billion rupees

Pakistan Railway Prepares PC-1

Pakistan railway has prepared a PC-1 of Rs 380 billion for the upgradation of ML-1 from Peshawar to Karachi. An approval is under process and the Ministry of Planning will approve this budget in next coming month. The ministry of railway requested the allocation of Rs 50 billion in the next fiscal year budget.

Railway Ministry announced that the official groundbreaking ceremony of ML-1 will be held in December 2019. The railway Ministry further said that the initial design will cost about Rs10.6 billion and there are almost seven railway projects related to CPEC.
A budget of Rs 130 million is reserved for the feasibility report and upgradation of the rail link from Gwadar to Mastung and Jaccobabad and it will be completed in next month.
The Railway Ministry allocated Rs 4.54 billion to purchase land for 18 Km Gwadar railway track.

China to launch Clean drinking water Program:

A delegation of Chinese Academy of Sciences Zhang Yaping along with Vice president of Academy met with Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudry and announced that clean drinking water program in Pakistan.

Mr Zhang said that China will install RO plants in Pakistani schools to provide clean and drinking water.

Deputy Ambassador of China appraised that his country is offering 35 programs to Pakistani citizens and it will be extended to provide training to 1100 more people.

Minister of Science and Technology Mr Fawad Chaudry thanks to Chinese delegation and urged to cooperate in establishing Science laboratories in Pakistan which meets international standards.
